I am now a senior algorithm expert of Medical AI R&D at Alibaba DAMO Academy after two wonderful years at PAII Inc. Before that, I obtained my PhD degree in Computer Science from University of Texas at Arlington under supervision from Dr. Junzhou Huang in Aug 2019. I worked as research intern at NVIDIA and PAII in 2018 Summer and Fall, respectively.

My current research interests focus on developing computer vision and machine learning to improve the screening, diagnosis, and treatment recommendations in oncology for precision medicine using medical images and clinical data. Our recent work are presented in top medical journals including Nature Medicine, Annals of Surgery (Ann Surg), Radiology and Clinical Cancer Research (CCR). My work DeepPrognosis (pancreatic cancer outcome prediction) has been selected for MICCAI-MedIA Special Issue of Best Papers in 2020 and DeepAttnMISL is one of MedIA Most Cited Articles.

I hold both Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China. I was the winner of Microsoft Student Challenge 2012 and awarded two MICCAI travel awards (MICCAI 2015/2016) and gave two MICCAI orals (MICCAI 2016/2017).
